VISAA State Champion and last year Foot Locker Finalist, Daniel O'Brien is making the trip back to San Diego again after his 5th place finish at Foot Locker South.
It isn't every year where an athlete wins their first state XC title and two weeks later makes the Foot Locker National team, but it has been that type of year for Kelsey Harrington. Saturday morning she took home a 4th place finish running 17:05 to make the team, she was VA's second finisher.
It was nothing but joy for John Champe senior Bethany Graham as she made the Foot Locker National team with her 3rd place, 17:03 finish at Foot Locker South.
Loudoun Valley swept the team titles and Western Albemarle finished second to send three teams to NXN next week.
The holiday weekend would not be complete without the annual running of the Foot Locker South Regional. Here many athletes from across the South will compete for just 10 spots to the Foot Locker Nationals Championships out in San Diego.
Saturday down at WakeMed in Cary will be the Nike Cross Nationals Southeast Regional Championship.
The resurfacing of the Boo Williams track has been pushed back one week. That means this year's Real Deal Track Classic is now scheduled for December 27th/28th.
