The Roku is a small three-inch set top box that connects to any modern television, allowing a wide range of video content to be streamed to the big screen via a wireless internet connection.

Some 40 teams may their way into Johnson City  to compete in the fifth annual KTC Indoor Track Classic on Friday and Saturday. 106 athletes met the MileSplit National Elite standard in their respective events, and 10 meet records were set, including seven on the girls side. 
 
It was a productive weekend for Georgia athletes, as several put up national caliber marks and times.  Athens Academy's (Ga.) Torie Owers won the shot put in a mark of 50 feet, 2 inches, just outside of her national leading throw of 50'6". Monica Phillips of Pope (Ga.) won the weight with a 55-1 throw, which was her second-best performance of all time (Her best is 57'11"). Owers finished second behind Phillips in a throw of 52-9.75. 

 

Athlete Spotlight: Karissa Jenkins David Pickett Feb 22, 2011

Robert E. Lee’s Karissa Jenkins could have a million excuses as to why her season could be going bad, but instead she has a million answers to why her season is going exceptionally well. Her self-discipline and perseverance is allowing her to excel as a track athlete. Jenkins has showed nothing but dominance this indoor season. At the Southern Valley District meet, Jenkins set three meet records and one school record, with victories in the 55-meter dash, 55-meter hurdles, the triple jump and long jump. She has posted some impressive times and marks this season, including a 7.43 in the dash, 8.43 in the hurdles, 18-1 in the long jump and 38-2 in the triple.

Sometimes being the underdog can be a good or bad thing. So far it has proven to be a good thing for Tony Green.  After being academically ineligible as a sophomore, Green returned to the oval at Patrick Henry High as a junior. Using track to stay out of trouble, Green never understood the amount of athletic ability he possessed. Little did he know that would all change on February 26 of 2010...

Athlete Spotlight: Alyn Carr David Pickett Feb 10, 2011

Known by her peers and coaches for her humble and friendly attitude, Blacksburg’s Alyn Carr has emerged as one of Virginia’s top sprinters this indoor season. Despite just being a sophomore, she has already established herself as one of the top sprinters in the US. Carr ran the 11th fastest time nationally in the 55-meter dash (7.09) at the Virginia Tech Invitational. In the process, her time broke the Virginia Group AA record previously held by Caroline graduate Kisha Garrick (7.10), who is now competing collegiately at Virginia. Read Full Story
