2013-2014 Capitol Conference 13 Indoor Track and Field Championships
Date, Site, Time: Field Events: Tues. February 4, 2014 @ Episcopal. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Field events will start at 5:50 pm: Long Jump followed by Triple Jump, Shot Put, Pole Vault, and High Jump. Running Events: Start at 6:30 pm with the 55 M Hurdles/55 M Dash Trials and 3200 M Relay Finals.
Running Events: Friday February 7, 2014 @ TJ Community Center. Doors open at 5:00 pm
*Scratch Meeting: Monday, February 3, 2014 @ Wakefield H.S. at 6:30 pm in the Cafeteria

*Entry Deadline: Conference Entries will open on January 20 at 10:00am. All entries will be entered on www.milestat.com by 11:59 am, January 31, 2014.
Performance list will be sent to the coaches by 12:00 pm on Sunday February 2, 2014.
Admission: General Admission is $7.00. Athletes will be checked in at the main door.
Scoring: 10-8-6-4-2-1
Awards: Championship Plaques, Plaques for both girls and boys teams. Medals for 1st through 6th places in the individual events and relays.
Entries: Each school may enter three (3) individuals in each event. If more than three are entered, all must meet the Conference standard during the current indoor season in a sanctioned meet. All athletes entered in an individual event must have a time or distance to be in the Conference meet, except the long and triple jump.
Event Limitation: In one meet a contestant may compete in any number of field events but shall be limited to participation in only three running events, except that a contestant who competes in the 3200 M Run may compete in only one other running event on the same day.
Standards: See the VHSL standards for Conference 13.
Note: The one minute rule will apply in all field events, except the pole vault which remains at one and one half (1-1/2) minutes.
Scratches: Any scratches in any seeded or sectioned running event following the coaches scratch meeting will not disqualify an individual from all subsequent running events.
Rules: The 2013 National Federation Rule book and the 2013-14 edition of the Virginia High School League Handbook are in effect.
Reporting: In events run by heats, all runners must report to the clerk on first call and if they do not report by the third call, they will be scratched from that individual event
Track: NO SPIKES WILL BE WORN AT THOMAS JEFFERSON. AT EPISCOPAL 1/8 SPIKES ONLY.
Long/Triple: Four jumps/throws, no finals. An athlete must have one legal jump/throw in the first three attempts to qualify for the fourth attempt.
Shot Put: Every athlete will have three throws and top 7 will advance to the finals with three more throws.
Uniforms: Participants will be required to wear team uniforms while competing. Meet numbers will be issued to each school and required to be worn on the front of the uniform. Running athletes will get hip numbers when they check in for their running events. Hip numbers will be worn on the left hip. In relay events each team member shall wear a design school uniform, jersey and trunks. When other apparel is worn under the uniform, it will be considered undergarments and must be single solid color.
Section 5A Entries: All entries must be submitted to www.milestat.com by 10:00 am on Sunday Feb. 9, 2014 NO SCRATCH MEETING. The top 5 individuals from each individual event and top 3 relay teams qualify for the 5A Region Meet on Feb. 15, 2014. In addition any individual who have met the Regional qualifying standards may be added. All scratches must be done on Monday, February 10, 2014 before 6:00 pm at www.milestat.com. The update password will be sent with the event rank list on Sunday, February 9. 2014.
