They nearly won every relay event possible and did so by wide margins of victory posting impressive early season times on a cold late March day. The ER girls took the 4x100 (48.54), 4x200 (1:41.36), 4x400 (3:54.56), 4x1600 (21:36.69), and DMR (12:37.39) to help them win the team title at Legard Relays quite easily with 80 points. A sweep of the team titles by Eleanor Roosevelt was denied by the Battlefield boys as the school from Haymarket finished the meet with 78 points. A first place in the 4x800 meter relay (8:22.16) and Nike All-American Rex Parker finishing as the top individual performer in both the long jump (20'8.50") and triple jump (43'9") were the top events for the Battlefield team. South Lakes had another great weekend led by Nicholas Vaughn as the Seahawks swept the varsity sprint relay races with winning times of 43.50 in the 4x100, 1:31.14 in the 4x200, and a state leading performance of 3:22.14 in the 4x400. South Lakes also had a 1-2 finish in the high jump from AJ Price (6'2") and Mike Harrell (5'10") as the team just came up short of moving ahead of the Eleanor Roosevelt boys (53 points) in the final team standings with 52 points for second place overall.
