2024 MEET INFORMATION & INSTRUCTIONS

Facility Layout

The VA Showcase is simply the best meet in the entire nation and emblematic of what track & field is. It is a meet both for the ELITE and EVERY athlete by having both "Invitational" and regular events.

In seven years this invitational has seen 14 NATIONAL RECORDS, 4 U20 WORLD RECORDS, and a staggering 200+ US #1 performances. The most important statistic though is how many athletes PR at this event. National Records are great but what makes this meet the best is seeing all athletes set a personal best in front of a loud and cheering crowd.

Please read registration guidelines closely to make sure you are entering the meet correctly.

**USATF Events are part of a separately sanctioned event. They are not a part of the NFHS Sanctioned event and any athlete in those races are not eligible to compete in NFHS events on the same day.

Sanctioning

The following states have approved this sanction: VA, DC, MD, NC, PA, NY, NJ, FL, TX, OH, CT, DE, LA, MA, MS, NH, GA, WV, TN and RI. WV teams will need to speak with the state association as teams are only approved by name for indoor track in WV at this event.

Invitational Events

These events include everything except the 4x800 which will be run right before the start of Saturday's Invitational events. Normal timed finals that are run fast > slow.

Invitational events will be the top 10-15 or top flight of athletes entered into each event. These events will be run off at the exact time listed on the time schedule. In events where there are multiple sections the event will run slow fast and in distance races have the top seed on the far outside. We release the invitational entries immediately following the closing of registration.

In the 4x200 and 300 we will be running lanes 3-6. Seeding for lanes will be done by meet management and based on a combination of current season bests and realistic predictions of what someone could run if they do not have a time. Preference of lanes for lane races on the oval are 5-4-6-3-2-1.
