MileSplit is excited to announce that we will be LIVE streaming once again the Virginia Tech Premier High School Invitational (previously streamed the 2015 event) on January 27th and 28th along with the December 17th's Hokie Holiday Festival from Virginia Tech's Rector Fieldhouse in Blacksburg, Virginia.

The late January high school event at Virginia Tech is annually one of the top indoor meets in the country producing numerous US #1 and US top 10 performances in every edition of the meet's history as well as national records being witnessed including Francena McCorory's 36.96 300 in 2006 and Devon Williams' 1:11.44 500 in 2004. Sarah Bowman's 2:43.40 1000 national record was also set on this same track at the 2015 Virginia AA State Meet. The meet has always served as a rare opportunity for athletes in the Mid-Atlantic states of Maryland, North Carolina, and Virginia to compete on a fast banked 200 meter track.

Last year's Virginia Tech Premier Invite had a whopping 443 MileSplit National elite performances! To stress how consistently elite this meet is...the 2015 Virginia Tech Premier Invite had 443 MileSplit National elite performances too!

The Hokie Holiday Festival was held for the first time last year with Tech's new football fieldhouse creating December meet availability for a second high school event in Virginia. Despite being limited to less than 30 Virginia schools, the meet produced 77 MileSplit elite performances in year one last December. 

Both events hosted by Virginia Tech under the meet direction of Dan Ward (who has been the meet director of past VHSL Outdoor State Track & Field Championships, Maymont X-Country Festival and still currently puts on the elite Southern Track Classic in Richmond every May), will be great showcase of the lightning fast indoor track facility found in Blacksburg and the elite talent which will travel there.

The entry deadline for the Virginia Tech Premier Invitational is January 11th. Coaches can enter their teams and athletes HERE. The Hokie Holiday Festival may have already reached its team capacity of 26 schools and is limited to only Virginia schools.
