Weekday Meet Results & Highlights (April 8-11)

De'Nisha Smith of Cosby ran a state leading time of 44.93 in the 300 meter hurdles on Wednesday in a tri meet at Midlothian with her teammate Elisa Hendriksen running a four second PR for runner-up and MileSplit US national elite time of 46.12. It was an impressive return to top form for Smith (43.61 PR last year) was setback by injury in the last half of the indoor season. Smith and Hendriksen both commented afterwards how much easier that the 300 meter hurdles felt for them after recently doing a workout of 1,500 meters worth of hurdling. The Cosby hurdlers were racing against one of their top competition in the Dominion District and Central Region in Alice Babashak of Midlothian, who this past weekend ran close to 45 seconds flat at the Glen Allen Invitational, but a bit slower on Wednesday on tired legs for third place (47.60) after winning the 100 meter hurdles (15.89) and 100 meter dash (12.89) to help Midlothian win the meet over Cosby and Clover Hill.
