With three regions now reporting results the times are quickly picking up and the leaderboards are being systematically rewritten. Check out all the changes and where everything stands now with the majority of the finals and fast races to come this weekend.

The selection was very tough as always for the All-MileStat.com Team. As this cross country season like any other, anything can happen. What you expect to happens never seem to does and what happens you never would have expected. One week someone is hot, the next week that person is out of the picture. A star runner goes down, a newcomer comes out of nowhere. There were many deserving athletes to be on this list. Looking at this year\'s group, there are probably a dozen or so runners who are probably in a group of their own and then 3 dozen or more runners who could beat each other on any given day. Some of the runners missing from this list definitely deserve recognition for their fine seasons. Let these All-MileStat.com selections serve as a way to recognize the great accomplishments of the state\'s top athletes this fall, while serving as motivation and providing drive for those left off or returning next fall to strive for greater excellence in the future.

Several of Virginia\'s elite cross country and track and field high school prep stars have signed their National Letters of Intent in the early signing period which lasts from November 9th to 16th. Multi-event track star Michael Morrison of Great Bridge, two-time All-American Katie Doswell of St. Catherine\'s, state record pole vault holder Ashley of Western Albemarle, and 11-time state champion Francena McCorory were just a few of many top Virginians to finalize their college decisions early. The state of Virginia will be sending two representatives to this year\'s Foot Locker Nationals in Hayfield senior Melissa Dewey and Western Branch freshmen Aurora Scott. Dewey and Scott were among the top eight nationals bound finishers in the girls\' seeded race at the Foot Locker South Regional Meet held at McAlpine Greenway Park in Charlotte, North Carolina. Amanda Patterson of Midlothian and Michael Chapa of J.R. Tucker have great tune-ups for Footlocker as they post winning times at the VMI 3200m Time Trial. The Duke bound Patterson appears to have shook off her injury which occurred to a leg muscle during cross-country season. She did not appear to be someone coming off an injury. Instead, Patterson seemed to be near top form as she cruised to an easy win of 10:57 at the VMI 3200m Time Trial held at the VMI outdoor track. Michael Chapa, the current AAA Cross Country State Champion and Footlocker contender, set a new standard of 9:11.92 in the boy

Dewey and Chapa destroyed the AAA competition. Eggleston holds off Yonts as White upsets Fanning in AA. Moyer and Biddle-Snead get A state titles. Thomas Jefferson boys and Lake Braddock girls grab AAA trophies. Clarke County wins two teams and two individual A state championships. Brentsville District and Western Albemarle claim AA titles. The first true weekend of racing action for high schoolers kicked off with several in-state invitationals with plenty of top teams and individuals squaring off with one another in early season contests.
