In just her third competition since Jan. 15, and her sixth overall race as a professional, Florida native Tamari Davis, 17, lowered her overall career best at 60 meters down to 7.18 seconds on Satuday at the East Coast Invitational, earning a victory over an established field of women. Previously, Davis ran 7.21 seconds in the finals of the 60m at the KMS Open in Birmingham, Alabama, on Jan. 31. She opened her professional account in the 300m on Jan. 15 at the UAB Blazer Invitational, posting a time of 39.53 seconds.
