GREENSBORO, Nc. - The queen of VA sprints definitely earned her title this year by becoming likely the first ever girl to complete the double triple sweep at states. She won every single sprint even this year and even was all-state in the high jump. She is an athlete that always doubles and sacrifices a lot for her teammates, which are all returning it should be noted. This weekend had a difference though.
GREENBORO, Nc. - It had to have been sweet redemption for the upperclassmen this year after falling just short in so many relays a year ago. Not only did they manage to win the relays they didn't last year but they also managed to to break the state records in each as well. Their performances this weekend have to go down in history as one of the most dominating ones ever with their victorious sweep of the sprint relays.
GREENSBORO, Nc. - In her final race as a prep athlete Weini Kelati showed us one last time that she is really the best. It was a tough race from start to finish for Kelati with company by her side for the first time since her Foot Locker National title in December.
GREENSBORO, Nc. - When individuals think of powerhouses in the state of Virginia two schools definitely always come up. These two schools that absolutely dominate the track scene in Virginia are Nansemond River and Western Branch high school.

GREENSBORO, Nc. - The quartet of Ross, Tilmon, Terrell, and Ballard continued the Bruin this tradition by winning their fourth outdoor shuttle hurdle relay title in a row. Not only did the continue their winning streak but they also did so in speedy fashion crossing the line in 55.89 which is US #2 all-time behind their own school record.
GREENSBORO, NC - The senior loaded War platoon of Goulet, Towe, Richardson, and Johnson put on a show in the opening final of Saturday's action to the tune of a US #4 all-time 1:34.23 clocking. This time was not only good enough to win the national title but it also shattered their previous Virginia state record by two seconds and dropped the meet record down a second as well.
Weini made history this weekend by completing the very rare triple crown of a Foot Locker National XC Title, an indoor 5K title and the outdoor 5K title as well. She didn't have anything on her side though as they switched the event order just before she ran and she faced some horrible gusty conditions throughout the race. Both of those didn't deter her from chasing that record and another national title.
There is absolutely no denying that Virginia is home to the very best athletes in the entire nation this year. So dominant in fact that we as a state could sweep the boys' 100-5K and the 110H, Long Jump,Triple Jump, and many of the relays as well. The girls are no slouches either with US #1 relay teams and of course some really great distance, hurdle, and sprint talent.
