Brandee' Johnson

Get pumped for The Texas Relays with this Throwback Thursday

GREENBORO, Nc. - It had to have been sweet redemption for the upperclassmen this year after falling just short in so many relays a year ago. Not only did they manage to win the relays they didn't last year but they also managed to to break the state records in each as well. Their performances this weekend have to go down in history as one of the most dominating ones ever with their victorious sweep of the sprint relays.

GREENSBORO, Nc. - When individuals think of powerhouses in the state of Virginia two schools definitely always come up. These two schools that absolutely dominate the track scene in Virginia are Nansemond River and Western Branch high school.

GREENSBORO, NC - The senior loaded War platoon of Goulet, Towe, Richardson, and Johnson put on a show in the opening final of Saturday's action to the tune of a US #4 all-time 1:34.23 clocking. This time was not only good enough to win the national title but it also shattered their previous Virginia state record by two seconds and dropped the meet record down a second as well.

Brandee' made history again on the track and broke her own state record.

This is an article that few states ever get to write but since VA is just on another level this year we can finally write it! With all the elite athletes we have including eight different US #1's we have to really ask, where do they rank in the entire world this year.

It looks like Harry Parone Stadium in #famouslyhot Columbia, will be surprisingly cooler than usual for this year's Taco Bell Track Classic. Twenty events this year have seed marks at or faster than the current records.

VA is the home to greats in T&F this year. While everyone in the nation has been focusing on both Lyles', Holloway, Hunter, Murphy, Kelati, and company the best one of them all may have gone overlooked. In fact, she actually holds Holloway, Murphy, Kelati, and Hunter combined! That of course is Nansemond River senior Brandee' Johnson.

With her trio of gold medals in hand, Johnson could have called it a day, and watched as the WAR team cruised to an easy team win.

Watch Brandee Johnson of Nansemond River win the 60 meter hurdles at the University of Kentucky High School Invite in a US #8 8.46 clocking.

Now that competition is over for the day we can safely take a step back, or for most of us, let the shock subside and see that today was the single greatest day in Virginia track and field history.
