The championship season meet auto standards for upcoming 2013-2014 indoor track & field season have been released on November 20th by the VHSL and are based on the average of the 8th best season performance over the last 6 years from the schools assigned to each Conference, Region, and State classification. Group 6A State Indoor Auto Qualifiers (12/18) Dec 19, 2013

A list of Group 6A state indoor automatic qualifiers as of December 18th. Rachael Fasana (10'6") and teammate Maggie Ruud (9'6") qualified for state indoor championship competition in the first week of the season at the Ram Invitational held outdoors at James Robinson High School. With three national caliber distance runners in Hannah Christen, Katy Kunc, and Katie Roche, Fasana in the pole vault and any other point contributors from the Lake Braddock squad would position them well to compete for the Group 6A state indoor title this winter.

6A North Regional Meet Preview Feb 18, 2014

It has been a long layoff for many of the 6A North athletes as early conference meets and weather delays have created a 3 week gap in the schedule.  Action will resume this Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 PM at the Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, MD.  Below you will find a meet preview for the 6A North Region Championship.  Relays are not included as it is much harder to determine the potential finishes without knowing the legs for each school.

It’s good to be a bear - at least it looks to be down at the Boo Williams Sportsplex this weekend.  In a strange coincidence, five of the six teams we feature in our 6A preview have adopted some form of bear for their school’s mascot.

McGorty Breaks 6A 1600 Record While Completing Triple Mar 09, 2016

While most runners would harness their focus to these two individual goals, let it be stated that most runners are not as intense as the Charger junior. So, last month, without provocation, McGorty approached Coach Matt Gilchrist and announced a new goal.
