It’s good to be a bear - at least it looks to be down at the Boo Williams Sportsplex this weekend. In a strange coincidence, five of the six teams we feature in our 6A preview have adopted some form of bear for their school’s mascot.

Rachael Fasana (10'6") and teammate Maggie Ruud (9'6") qualified for state indoor championship competition in the first week of the season at the Ram Invitational held outdoors at James Robinson High School. With three national caliber distance runners in Hannah Christen, Katy Kunc, and Katie Roche, Fasana in the pole vault and any other point contributors from the Lake Braddock squad would position them well to compete for the Group 6A state indoor title this winter.
The championship season meet auto standards for upcoming 2013-2014 indoor track & field season have been released on November 20th by the VHSL and are based on the average of the 8th best season performance over the last 6 years from the schools assigned to each Conference, Region, and State classification.
