There are a lot of superstars in our state, so many in fact that a lot of stars get over looked. States though is always the time for athletes like that to rise to the occasion and show what they are made of. Here are ten athletes who in nearly any other state would be a superstar but in VA you may have not heard of them... yet.
The real excitement though has to be with Drew Hunter entered in the 800, 3200, and as a very likely leg on the 4x800. This will arguably be his final race as a high schooler and definitely his last race in Virginia probably for at least a decade.
Sometimes reclassifications make things very interesting and other times it makes things quite lop-sided. This year was definitely a different year for 3A as former Eastern Region teams Phoebus and I.C. Norcom dropped down from 4A to 3A and introduced the former AA schools to what type of speed it takes to even perform well at a Peninsula District Meet!

Nearly everyone in track nation's heart sank at around 6:00pm Saturday afternoon when it was announced that the VHSL Group 3A and 4A State Meets would be cancelled through all completed events.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - At 12:05pm the VHSL office and director of the track & field championships confirmed that the 3A4A State Outdoor Championship will be resumed Wednesday at 2:30pm at Harrisonburg High School.
Wednesday afternoon is going to be one of the most exciting and interesting ends to a state meet ever. Not only are the team title battles close but three of the four titles are very much up for grabs. These battles and remaining events are so close in fact that we are going to break it down for you to give some real insight into potentially #WhoWonStates.
